The bar itself is on Dongzhimen Dajie and is a truly international community, offering affordable drink prices for the East side, along with offers on selected days of 2 for 1 drinks. Each day offers something different, with a theme night each night of the week, so there's always an excuse for a party! They sponsor a large portion of sports teams in Beijing and this allows us to have a truly global and divers community, to the point the bar has international recognition as one of the best community Irish bars after winning an award for it in 2018.

Side Street have joined in the 2019 season as another sponsor, again with a passion for cricket which works really well with the club. Side Street is a hidden gem in Beijing, offering interesting food choice such as some fusion foods along with some of the best burgers in Beijing. Joining us for the 2020/21 season are our latest sponsors Gunpowder, a cozy, welcoming cocktail bar located close to Workers stadium and Yoolee Plaza (Not too far from Cafe Groove!).
They specialise in Kombucha based drinks and have a broad selection of excellent cocktails, but also have beers and other spirits available (Personal favourite cocktail was The Gentleman!) . Its a great place to go for a stylish drink that can either start your night off in style or finish it with class (or for some of the ducks, become that perfect 3am stopgap before the next venue!)

SLOW BOAT DUCK OF THE DAY AWARD
Awarded to the duck who puts in a solid performance that week:
That duck gets a 100RMB voucher from Slow Boat, and will probably spend it pretty easily due to Slow Boat's great range of beers and burgers!
Week 1 Award Aug 11th - Hugh Carnegie - putting on a solid 49 runs before getting out and giving the ducks some solidity in the middle of the order
Week 2 Award Aug 18th - Fruitbat - A top spell of Bowling from Ravi helped the side but ultimately one man got us to a respectable total and that was Fruitbat who scored a sensible measured 48 before finally being dismissed looking to kick the score on.
Week 3 Award Aug 25th - Ravi - Some notable efforts, including a gritty knock of 38 from the skipper after a top order mini collapse and PK's excellent spell taking 3 wickets in 6 overs, but offering it with both bat and Ball after a rapid first spell and a flurry of runs at the end of the game scoring a quick fire 27 it goes to Ravi this week!
